The study, titled Marmara University Faculty of Communication: Journalists' Guide 2007', addresses the structural shortcomings and data deficiencies in the field of journalism in Turkey. It emphasises that journalism forms the foundation of communication, stating that a journalist’s professional background, education, experience and social environment determine the quality of communication processes. In this context, the guide emphasises the importance of expanding information networks within the field of journalism and of systematically documenting professional data.
