The 1st Haluk Tezonar Sculpture Symposium (Oct-Nov 4, 2007) was held to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Marmara University. Unlike other symposia, this one did not limit participants to specific materials. Six young artists exhibited their works in public spaces around Kadıköy, adding to the city's aesthetics. Prof. Haluk Tezonar, the symposium's namesake, is a renowned artist and former chair of Marmara University's Sculpture Department, who has left a significant legacy in various Turkish cities.
